6) Circles

Overview

Circles make it easier for you to group players or teams. In this article, you will learn how to create a circle, add members to a circle, remove or add members, and delete a circle.

Circles is essentially a way for you to create virtual social groups for you and your fellow players. These virtual social groups (Circles) are not only a great way to get in touch with your fellow players through the app, but are also useful to invite specific groups of players when you’re making a court reservation.

For example, rather than having to individually invite the same three friends for your weekly doubles session, you can create a circle that groups your friends into one place.

Procedure

Accessing Circles

1. Log in to PlayTennisConnect.
2. Either in the Hamburger Menu or Quick Navigation Bar, tap on Circles.
   
   
   
   
3. This is your Circles page, where you can view and interact with all of your club’s circles, created both by you and other players.
   
   

IMPORTANT NOTE: The names and images of the events shown below may look different compared to the events your club may have posted.

Create Your Circle

1. Tap ADD A CIRCLE +.   
   
   
   
   
2. Create your circle by providing the following:
   • Name (Required): Name your circle!
   • Share circle with members: Whether or not you want to make this circle publicly visible, or private. 
   • Allow members to join: will make the circle public to the club, where members can freely join your created circle.
     
     
     
     
3. Tap CREATE. Congrats! You have just created your first circle. 
   
   
   

 

Adding or Removing Players from a Circle

1. Tap the arrow on the right hand side to see a drop-down view of your players.
2. If there are no players in your circle, tap Add Members.
   
   
   
   
3. A search bar will then appear on the top center screen, where you can search which specific members/players you would like to add to your circle. You can also add multiple players to your circle. 
   
   
   
   
4. Once you have added your players into the queue, tap OK. 
   
   
   
   
5. If you want to add a player that is a guest, tap on CREATE NEW GUEST and a drop-down menu will appear. Fill out the required information, then tap ADD MEMBER.

Congrats! You have successfully added these players into your circles.

If you want to remove a player, tap the red minus symbol next to their name.

Edit Your Circle

1. Select a circle to rename and click on the Edit () icon. 
   
   
   
   
2. Change the name of the circle. 
3. Tap SAVE.

Delete a Circle

1. Tap the Delete () icon for the circle you want to remove.
2. A confirmation message pops up. Tap DELETE to confirm. 
   
   

Now your Circle has been deleted!

 

Shared Circles

1. Shared Circles are publicly accessible circles created by other players in the app. To get to this menu, tap Shared Circles section on the top of the Circles menu.  
   
   
   
   
2. Here, you can view, and even join, all the circles that have been created by fellow players and made public. 
   
   
   
   IMPORTANT NOTE: The prompts in Step 2 of “Create Your Circle” is where you can make a circle public or private. By selecting the boxes, your fellow players will be able to view your circle in the Shared Circles section. Not selecting the boxes means your circle won’t be publicly visible in this section of the app.
